Abstract

Customer complaints are often treated as isolated quality incidents rather than opportunities for organizational learning. This paper explores the application of the Eight Disciplines (8D) problem-solving methodology – a structured, team-oriented approach—to transform negative customer feedback into sustainable process improvements. Customer complaints are often perceived as negative feedback; however, they provide valuable insights into product and process deficiencies. The Eight Disciplines (8D) problem-solving methodology is widely used in automotive and manufacturing industries to systematically address such issues. This paper also presents a structured approach to applying the 8D methodology to customer complaints, transforming them into opportunities for continuous improvement. Real-time examples, tables, and visual representations are included to demonstrate practical implementation.
